Richmond Hill, Queens is home to the largest Punjabi immigrant population and the biggest Gurudwara on the East Coast. Hence, earning the name 'Little Punjab'. The community that has been growing in harmony since early 2000's has, over the years also survived discrimination, racial attacks post 9/11, and religious profiling.

Growing up within a Punjabi neighborhood in South India and having an insider's view being an outsider, Richmond Hill reminds me of home, displacement and rebuilding a culture in new foreign lands. Little Punjab is an on-going documentation of my interactions with the community of Punjabis, their daily life, their resilience, cultural ties and interdependence on each other in a charged environment. It's an exploration of the religion, its fused culture and its implications.
