Richmond Hill, Queens, home to the largest Punjabi immigrant population, is also called as 'Little Punjab'. The community that has been growing since early 1980's has, over the years, survived discrimination, racial attacks post 9/11, and religious profiling.

Growing up within a Punjabi neighborhood in South India and having an insider's view being an outsider, Richmond Hill reminds me of home, displacement and rebuilding a culture in new foreign lands. Little Punjab is an on-going documentation of my walks and interactions with the community of Punjabis, their resilience, cultural ties and interdependence on each other in a charged environment.
